10/8/2019 Patti Labelle Live One Night Only Rar
As someone who has been spinning disco records (note the word record) for over 35 years I think I can speak with some authority when I say this is the worse 100 Greatest Disco 12″ I have ever seen. It was clearly compiled by someone who has no idea what disco is. Just to remind everyone, it’s music to dance to, loosen your inhibitions and make you feel good. Whilst there are a few tracks on the list that would pass muster in a ‘Best of Disco’ list, the ommissions are staggering. One Patrick Adams track? Nothing from Cerrone? Nothing from Rinder & Lewis?
No Gregg Diamond, not even Peter Jacques, let alone Don Ray as mentioned below and I think I missed anything produced or mixed by Tom Moulton. Sorry, but whoever did this list has a very poor knowledge of disco. But please.who made this ranking (?) An idiot who never stepped on a dance floor.?
I’m not asking to put the idiot theme (funkytown) but if Major Groups that are not.!Van McCoy, Hues Corporation, Dinasty, VMCrew, Rufus & Chacka khan, Chocolate Milk, Ray P Junior and Raydio, Salsoul Orchestra, Fat Larry Band, People’s Choice, Rick James, Cameo, Lakeside, MFSB, The O’Jays and The Three Degrees, Boney M, Silver Convention, Cerrone, Ginno Soccio, a taste of honey and many more this Ranking is a Real Shit. Who the Fu#k.came up with this lame list.whom ever don’t know sh#t about what was hot in the clubs back in the DAY.if you know ANYTHING about this music genre.you would never leave out.The Trammps Gloria Gaynor Barry White McFadden & Whitehead KC and The Sunshine Band A Taste of Honey Amii Stewart Sylvester Village People Kool & The Gang Lipps Inc.The Hues Corporation The Andrea True Connection Anita Ward Vicki Sue Robinson Labelle Love Unlimited Orchestra.you get the idea.!!!! This list has no cred!!!. Really had to make a login just to answer to all this unnecessary hate here in this discussion. The reactions of some people here make me think they’ve never understood what disco music is about. At least they didn’t got touched by the vibe and soul of disco. It’s not about hate.
It’s about dancing, it’s about smiling, it’s about not taking everything too serious, it’s about loving (especially physically ? Where is all this complaining coming from for a topic which is – in the world we live in – more than irrelevant. It’s just a list of disco-music releases – not more and not less. Generally I think it’s impossible to list tracks seriously by any value. Therefore music is a too subjective matter. If you want a standard billboard list about disco music with all the big names everyone knows then there are a lot of possibilities in the web. Use spotify or itunes lists for example.
I personally like this offered list here, cause it has personality and it’s not generated by any bots, but made by a regardful person (or group). Furthermore i found some good new tunes i didn’t know yet, although i listen a lot of disco music. So, please dear people calm down and start thinking by yourself.
And start to stop hating. Thank you ?. This is no more than an attempt to try and impress us with a load of uninspired, hard-to-find (allegedly, point in case being Oneness of JuJu, which concludes its description with “Original 1980 copies are extremely rare” – they’re NOT!, although it is a funky slice of groovealishousness), and (most of ’em) absolute cr.p records.
Did someone go and buy a box entitled “Disco Job Lot” and there happened to be 100 12″ers in it or something? Yep, fair do’s there are SOME good one’s in here, but in the main this is just sh.t. How can you have a top 100 without the one of the best (come ON people, back me up on this) 12″ records of all time missing??? Ten Per Cent by Double Exposure? The GODFATHER of 12″ music – mixed by THE LEGEND Walter Gibbons.
I say “mixed” but in fact the label quite clearly say “Disco Blending by Walter Gibbens” so there can be NO dispute it is a DISCO record! Sack the board! Out with the Chairman! Now, folks, let’s get a REAL list going huh? 1 record each – I’ve already named mine (don’t care what number you want to give it, let’s just get 100 PROPER Disco records listed)!
Wow, a lot of haters in these comments, mostly complaining of omissions of popular tracks from back in disco’s heyday. I like that this list includes obscure and international tracks that have been rediscovered in various dance scenes (over the LAST 40 YEARS by the way) A lot has happened in that time. There’s a whole world out there people! Disco is about opening your mind and freeing yourself on the dancefloor! Open yourself up to new musical experiences. I spin “disco” on vinyl every Saturday, both new and old and and have many of these records, play the hits and the weird ones and Brazil, and African, and Island, and Italo, and Balearic, and etc etc. There were hundreds of thousands of disco 12″s.
Why limit yourself? Yes, lots of classics not on here, and a few that aren’t necessarily dancefloor bangers, but lots of new sounds for ya old geezers lol! Thank you for this list! Added a couple of them that are new to me, I’ll be hunting them down to drop on my dancefloors.
ABC crowned its first on Monday in a two-hour finale that also welcomed a wild assortment of celebrity guests, both human and Muppet. RELATED But before we break down the biggest moments of the night, let’s get to the results: With 45 minutes left in the broadcast, Ryan Seacrest revealed that placed third and would not be moving forward in the finale. We weren’t given the kind of extended goodbye these contestants have deserved all season, but at least we got to watch her fully walk off stage, which is something, I guess? This left and — who are dating (!), but we’ll get to that later — as the final two singers of Season 16.
And the winner is Poppe! Read on for a breakdown of the finale’s standout moments, for better or worse:. First and foremost, I’ve decided that we all take Lionel Richie for granted.
We, the viewers, We, the Americans, We, the humans. I’m not saying I haven’t been loving him this season, but a new appreciation washed over me during that opening performance of “All Night Long.” Bless this man. Nick Jonas’ duet with Jurnee (“Jealous”) was kind of perfect, and it felt very natural. She could go on the road with him tomorrow. I felt similarly, though not quite as strongly, about Barrett’s duet with Luke Bryan (“Most People Are Good”).
Perry freaking out over new Bachelorette Becca Kufrin — begging to have a chance to win her heart, even though she’s already in a relationship — was a weird little moment, no? (Also, a confession: When she referred to herself as “not single,” my out-of-touch fingers immediately began typing “Katy Perry boyfriend” into Google.). And then there was Sanjaya. He may not be the new American Idol, but Noah “Wig” Davis emerged this finale a winner, finally getting the alpaca of his dreams. That said, did anyone else do a Marge Simpson-style groan when Ryan Seacrest revealed that the alpaca in the studio was merely the “Hollywood stand-in” of the one Davis is getting? That doesn’t even count!. Sure, Poppe and Kermit the Frog’s “Rainbow Connection” duet was one of the most beautiful things I’ve seen on TV in recent memory — but I couldn’t stop fixating on. Does that make me a bad person?.
Let’s say I was only allowed to download one song from this season of American Idol — dark, I know! — I just might choose Perry and Catie Turner’s long-awaited duet of “Part of Me,” which was just as beautiful as I anticipated.
I have no idea how I’m supposed to feel about Hutchinson and Poppe “dating.” Is this the real deal, or just the best marketing stunt since Mountain Dew genetically engineered a Puppy Monkey Baby? Either way, I lost my damn mind when those crazy kids started holding hands during that gorgeous mashup of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” and “What a Wonderful World.”. Just when I thought the Idol finale gave us all had to give, it served up Ada Vox and Patti LaBelle doing “Lady expletive Marmalade”?! Your thoughts on ABC’s first American Idol winner? Drop ’em in a comment below.

Patti Labelle Live In Concert
Patti LaBelle & the Bluebelles had a minor Top Twenty R&B/pop hit with 'I Sold My Heart to the Junkman' in 1962 and, after signing with Atlantic Records, continued to score hits in a variety of sounds, ranging from girl group pop to '70s funk ('Lady Marmalade') to disco to lush pop and R&B ballads while going through a visually stimulating metamorphosis from the Bluebelles to LaBelle. Soul diva Patti LaBelle - the group's longtime leader - continues to enjoy one of the most successful solo careers in contemporary R&B. With producer Bobby Martin at helm, the quartet - now known as Patti LaBelle and the Bluebelles - earned a minor hit with their version of the Harold Arlen-penned standard “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” They had only a handful of minor R&B hits and near misses with Atlantic, including “I'm Still Waiting,” “Take Me for a Little While,” and “Down the Aisle (The Wedding Song)” which made full use of Patti LaBelle’s powerful gospel-derived lead vocals and harmonies. Other highlights from this period include the original version of “Groovy Kind of Love” (a big hit for Wayne Fontana & the Mindbenders), the Supremes-like “Tender Words,” the dramatic “All or Nothing,” and the moody Spooner Oldham/Dan Penn ballad “Dreamer.”.
They were fortunate to have the talents of some of the top songwriters of the day; in addition to Oldham and Penn, the Bluebelles performed material written by Carole Bayer, Pam Sawyer, Lori Burton, Bert Berns, Jeff Barry, Bacharach-David, Lorraine Ellison, and Curtis Mayfield (who produced some of the act’s later sides), as well as songs written by both Nona Hendryx and Sarah Dash - but nevertheless, the group preferred more aggressive and assertive material and were never quite comfortable with most of these songs. Halfway through their Atlantic Records period (1965 to 1969), Cindy Birdsong left to join the Supremes (replacing Florence Ballard). The remaining trio toured the so-called “chitlin circuit” for the remainder of the decade.
In 1970, unable to recreate their early success, the Bluebelles were dropped from their label and abandoned by their managers. Patti turned to promoter Vicki Wickham for help with their antiquated image.
Where Does Patti Labelle Live
Wickham renamed the trio 'Labelle' and began working to help the women reconfigure their sound for the ‘70s, pushing them in sexy, sweaty, gospel-drenched soul direction. Demure gowns they wore during their girl group phase were soon replaced by wild, flamboyant costumes and the group’s self-titled 1971 Warner Bros.
Debut was filled with robust harmonies and funky, rock-oriented R&B. To support the album, they toured with British rock band the Who and also collaborated with New York songwriter Laura Nyro on her superb R&B-influenced album Gonna Take a Miracle.
